Ride to Phillip Island 2022

19th to 27th February 2022

This will be subject to COVID19 Situation and current Health Directions at the time of the ride. Which are being monitored.

Black Dog Ride to Phillip Island 2022 aims to start a conversation about depression and suicide prevention around the country. Help us get the country talking and join us on this exciting ride to Phillip Island.

We have start points in Thrumster and Cambelltown NSW and Thornton Vic.

Black Dog Ride has a history of visiting areas that are doing it tough to raise awareness of depression and suicide prevention. This ride continues that tradition. Aside from our message, there is a side benefit - motorbike riders spend money to do these treks, benefiting the economies of the towns and cities. With that in mind, our aim this year is to ride through bush fire impacted communities and show them they are valued.

What else is in it for you? A chance to get on your two wheels with mates, ride the twistiest roads we can muster on the way down, go for some laps on the best motorbike track in the world, and then watch the experts show us how it's done over the weekend.

The Cause

1 in 5 Australians experience a mental health condition each year. 3 million Australians are living with depression or anxiety. 8 Australians take their lives each day. That's more than 3,000 lives lost to suicide each year. The tragic loss of our loved ones to suicide drives Black Dog Ride to build a community culture of awareness, inclusion and acceptance.

Breaking down the barrier of silence encourages our friends, family and colleagues to seek help, because mental illness is just that, an illness. Mental illness can be managed to lead a meaningful, fulfilling life. Fostering awareness is the catalyst for encouraging help seeking behaviour and preventing suicide.

Help Black Dog Ride break down barriers and start conversations, join us on our Superbikes weekend in February 2020 to kick start a national conversation around suicide prevention.
